Unfortunately a lot of people don’t have insurance that covers eye exams. This is especially true for people aged 65 and older who are no longer in the workforce. This could possibly help–for free!
EyeCare America is a public service program that’s part of the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. This program provides free eye exams for people ages 65 and older. But, there are some criteria you have to meet before you qualify for the free exam, such as not having seen an eye doctor in 3 or more years. The program won’t cover the cost of glasses or contacts. Just the exam.
